What to Bring to Your (VITA) 2020 Guilford College TaxHELP! Clinic

  1. All Forms W-2 and 1099
  2. Information for other income
  3. Information for all deductions/credits
  4. A copy of last year’s tax return
  5. Proof of identification (photo ID) for yourself and your spouse
  6. Social Security (or ITIN) cards for you, your spouse and dependents 
  7. An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) assignment letter may be substituted for you, your spouse and your dependents if you do not have a Social Security number
  8. Proof of foreign status, if applying for an ITIN
  9. Birth dates for you, your spouse and dependents on the tax return
  10. Wage and earning statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R,1099-Misc) from all employers
  11. Interest and dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099)
  12. Health Insurance Exemption Certificate, if received
  13. A copy of last year’s federal and state returns, if available
  14. Proof of bank account routing and account numbers for direct deposit such as a blank check
  15. To file taxes electronically on a married-filing-joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms
  16. Total paid for daycare provider and the daycare provider’s tax identifying number such as their Social Security number or business Employer Identification Number
  17. Forms 1095-A, B and C, Health Coverage Statements
  18. Copies of income transcripts from IRS and state, if applicable

STREET CONNECTIONS/DIRECTIONS

1. At the intersection of 1100 New Garden Road, Arcadia Drive, and George Fox Road,

2. From 1100 New Garden Road, turn into onto George Fox Road (the Northwest Entrance to the campus) and drive 2/10ths of a mile on George Fox Road.  Parking is available along the side of George Fox Road and the large parking lot beside George Fox Road. Stop and park in one of those parking spaces. You will not need to go through the 4-way intersection at George Fox Road and Quandrangle Drive.

3. After Parking along George Fox Road in designated parking areas, walk along the sidewalk at Quadrangle Drive to the Bauman Building (approximately 50 yards from the parking lot) and enter the rear of the Bauman Building (the red brick building and not the mobile classrooms in the back yard)  using the handicapped access ramp.  There are a few parking spaces at Bauman Building for those with handicapped placards to use.

VITA Requirements

  • Household income must be under $56,000 (or $66,000 for MyFreeTaxes)
  • Bring photo ID for self, and for spouse if filing jointly
  • Spouse must be present for married filing jointly
  • Bring Social Security cards (or ITIN documents) for yourself and every member of household on the return
  • Bring all tax documents, including ones for marketplace health insurance (example: W-2, 1099, 1098, 1095A etc.)
  • Bring copy of last year’s tax return if you have it
  • Bring bank account details on a canceled check (only) if requesting direct deposit of refund (if planning to split refund remember to bring savings account details also)
